Lutterworth Community Transport - Social Car Scheme

The Lutterworth Community Transport Social Car project is a serviced provided entirely by Volunteer Drivers using their own cars. Drivers are unpaid and receive only their direct costs. For the reassurance and wellbeing of our clients, drivers must have a suitable vehicle, appropriate insurance for this purpose and are all subject to Criminal Records Bureau checks. Lutterworth Community Transport - Wheelchair Accessible Car

The LCT Wheelchair Accessible Car is a vehicle with a rear ramp and pulley which allows easy access to the vehicle for those who are wheelchair bound to travel in the comfort of their own wheelchairs. Please note, LCT cannot provide wheelchairs for the use of this vehicle. For the reassurance and wellbeing of our clients, our volunteer drivers are all subject to Criminal Records Bureau checks. In certain circumstances, this vehicle may be hired to suitably qualified and approved drivers for the use of their friends or relatives. Lutterworth Community Transport - Community Buses

• Shopping trips are organised for individuals to book for visits to supermarkets and shops both in Lutterworth and other local areas. Click here to download or view our shopping trips schedule.

• Group transport can be provided to registered non-profit local organisations, charities and community groups using our volunteer drivers

• Vehicles may be hired by registered local non-profit organisations, charities and community groups using their own drivers who are approved by Lutterworth Community Transport.

Lutterworth Community Transport, Vehicle Hire

Subject to availablility, Community Buses may be hired by registered local non-profit organisations, charities and community groups using their own drivers who are pre-approved by Lutterworth Community Transport. The driver will be expected to have undergone a short vehicle familiarisation with one of our own drivers and we will need to make a copy of a current driving licence for our records. We reserve the right to decline anyone as a driver without reason or, in exceptional cricumstances may request the driver to undergo a further period of familiarisation if we feel this is necessary prior to driving our vehicles.

We are also prepared to consider allowing the hire of our Wheel-chair accessible car to approved drivers on a short-term basis (subject to availability, this may include overnight hire at weekends or other quiet periods). We regret that we cannot offer longer-term hire as the vehicle is frequently needed for community use.

A small annual registration fee is payable by groups wishing to use our vehicles for self-drive purposes.
